I was thinking about what a crime like that triggers in the mind of a deeply religious person? I guess a non believer can say, this is awful and tragic and the person who did it is crazy, and that´s that. But if you believe in a big plan, in a guiding hand from above, how do you deal with it?
Would you feel betrayed by god?
Or would you accept it as part of the plan?

I found it amazing how the amish community dealt with the killings so quickly. They was quick to forgive and if we compare it to other inccidents i don't think anyone would have been able to forgive the killer for that. For me it shows that the Amish do highly believe in life after death as they were saying that there work on earth is just to prepare them for heaven. For them there faith has guided helped them cope with the deaths
