this articles say's that Roberts was acting in a revenge that happened twenty years ago but that was something which he did. How can he do something in revenge when what happened he said he did 20years ago to me he seemed to have wanted to re-offend. Have a look at the article and tell me what you think?

To me it sounds as if he was guilt ridden because of his actions when he was 12 (he sexually abused two young children of his family), maybe mixed with the desire to do it again (as he brought lubricants to the crime scene). Maybe he blamed himself for the death of his daughter, thinking along the line of god punishing him? I take it he was religious, as he is referring to god in his suicide note...
Is it futile for us to try to understand a mind warped beyond recognition like his presumably was? I cant find satisfactory explanations of the situation, it is insane.

When I was reading the article it said that he wasn't religious but like you said he must have been some what religious as he did make refrence to God in his notes. If the police didn't interupt then I do believe he went there with the desire to sexually abuse the girls.
